Citizen Soldier was born when frontman Jake Segura penned the lyrics to one of their first songs from a psychiatric hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah. Segura now sits on the other side of the therapy couch, working as a licensed trauma counselor to tell the stories of those navigating internal struggles through a no-frils alt/rock post/grunge packaging. The Utah five piece of members Jake Segura (lead vocals), Wonitta (bass/ piano) Kyle Persell (drums) Kooper Hanosky (rhythm guitar), ans Matt Duffney (lead guitar) dosen’t tip toe around the ugliest parts of life, masterfully communicating what many struggle to put into words. They do so through soaring melodic powr balladry, infectious instrumental hooks, and gut-punching storytelling.
